Report about our trip to Broadstairs UK (Sept. 10th – 16th)

On Sunday September, 10th our class flew from Vienna to London Heathrow and then we went by bus to Broadstairs, a small town on the east-cost of England.
There two or three of us stayed at one host family. Most of them were really great and they didn’t just prepare dinner and breakfast for us but we got to know them during nice dinner talks.
Next morning after breakfast we went to school by bus. There we were grouped in classes of ten to twelve people. We had lessons from 9 to 12.15 nearly every day. Then we were free to get some lunch in the town and later there was the beautiful Coastal walk to Ramsgate. That was definitely one of the best activities because we saw huge waves and our guide who walked us was really nice. In the evening we had a very funny drumming workshop, where all of us were allowed to play his/her own drum.
On Wednesday we didn’t have to go to school because we did our London trip on that day. We really liked all the sightseeing and our group guide Tom was great as well. Going by boat from Greenwich to London Embankment was an extremely good idea of our teacher, because that way we were able to get where we want to and we still had a great view to the London Eye, the Tower Bridge, the Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and some more typical sights. I guess it was one of the highlights of our whole trip.
We also got the chance to buy some souvenirs at Piccadilly Circus, which was a lot of fun. There were no other activities on that day, but I was kind of happy about that, because of course I was pretty exhausted after walking around all day.
On Thursday afternoon we had an interesting guided tour in the pretty city Canterbury and after that we went to the disco in Margate, which was definitely the coolest evening activity for all of us! They played really cool music and we had a lot of fun.
Saturday was our departure day and we had to say good-bye to our host families. Before we went to the airport we visited the amazing White Cliffs of Dover. There we could enjoy an incredible view to the sea and the cliffs and it was a perfect photo location. The flight back home was quite OK, but some of us got ill because of the air-condition in the plane.
We want to say a big thank you to Mrs Reiter and Mrs Reiff, who guided us to England.
We will never forget the amazing journey!
